From One Witch to Another: Gratitude

From One Witch to Another: Gratitude

A book was published in 1910 called “The Science of Getting Rich” by Wallace Wattles. I believe that by “Rich” he meant in all things: rich in relationships, rich in exuberance for life, rich in ethics, rich in health, rich in friendships, and of course rich in wealth to be able to do the things that elevate us in body, mind, and spirit.

Wattles makes a profound statement, “First, you believe that there is one Intelligent Substance, from which all things proceed; second, you believe tha this Substance gives you everything you desire; and third, you relate yourself to it by a feeling of deep and profound GRATITUDE.”

You relate to the sacred by feeling gratitude. By the way, you can search the web for a free download of his books, and I highly recommend them!

What are you grateful for today?

Blessed be,

Great Day! Jupiter and Venus Go Direct!

Great Day! Jupiter and Venus Go Direct!

Take Action: November 18, 2010

Start a major project or initiate dynamic change.

Happy New Year! The New Year just began with Samhain on October 31, when we were at the midpoint between the Autumnal Equinox and the Winter Solstice.

The New Year began with the Earth and Nature preparing for the long winter, mirrored by our personal journey inward.

But wait! Before surrendering to long nights and shorter days, there is a propitious astrological event with powerful energy that you may wish to harness. On Thursday, November 18, 2010, both Jupiter (the planet of luck and expansion) and Venus (we all know that one) turn direct while the moon is in Aries (a propitious time for new beginnings). The full moon in Taurus is Sunday, another propitious day for using this new Jupiter and Venus energy.

This is a fabulous time to take action in love, finances, new beginnings, or moving forward in any area in your life that has been feeling stuck. Make a decision and focus on the outcome or, if you want to go deeper (using my book or other reference) assemble tools for ritual that aid in your focus. Cast a spell to create your desired outcome for the major event or dynamic change you desire.

Happy Realization!

From One Witch to Another: Blessed Samhain!

From One Witch to Another: Blessed Samhain!

Samhain is just around the corner on October 31st. There are some very poetic reasons to love Samhain, but it is also a wonderful time to take stock of where you are with your personal goals for the year.  I like to use the traditional New Year of January 1st to write goals and assess the previous year, and the Celtic New Year of Samhain to look back at the goals I wrote at the beginning of the year, and finish any I haven’t achieved.  This year, Samhain falls on a waning Virgo moon, an excellent time to banish disorganization, and so I think I will do a spell on myself to get motivated to finish those goals!

The poetic side of Samhain allows me to reflect on the past year.  It has been a personally difficult year, a harsh summer that challenged farmers and vintners, and problems with the economy, health care, and global challenges dominated the news.  As Samhain is the midpoint between autumn and winter, it is a good time to reflect on losses and challenges and look within and meditate to see how these events, whether personal or global, can help us to be better people or what good these events have brought into our lives.  If you choose to do ritual on Samhain, you might want to write down anything negative in your life that you want to give away or get rid of.  Bless the paper and words and thoughts behind them, and burn the paper (using utmost care and safety) to symbolize the challenges leaving your world and being cleansed in the next.  It’s also a good time to light a candle for those who have crossed over.  With the release, comes celebration of new opportunity and the realization that everything is a Do Over!

Happy New Year and Blessed Be,

From One Witch to Another: Citrine

From One Witch to Another: Citrine

Monday Magick

If you have not worked with the Mineral Kingdom, meditating while holding a stone, gem or crystal is a good way to start.  One of my favorite stones is Citrine.  The array of golden yellow to brown tones reminds me of autumn, and it is beautiful in either its polished or crystalline form to place on your altar for October.  From my book Natural Magick: The Essential Witch`s Grimoire, `Citrine teaches that, if we are open, we create our own confidence, self-image, success, power, leadership skills, money, and prosperity.  Citrine alleviates the stress of the bad habit of feeling out of control, and allows us to move forward in a positive fashion knowing that confidence and success are ours.`  When I wrote that, I was considering that our responses to stressful situations are habitual.  If you do not believe in the energy of stones and crystals, simply carry one to act as a reminder to change your emotional habits and create positive change.  Either way it works!

Blessed be, and have a marvelous week.

From One Witch to Another: Your Star Wars Name

From One Witch to Another: Your Star Wars Name

Hello!

Thank you so much for your feedback and words of encouragement.  I will write more seriously about witchy things, nature, etc., but wanted to share this fun game with you.  Just for fun, and since  a friend of mine has identified our secret Royal Star Wars Names, I want to post how to create your OWN Royal Star Wars Name!  My apologies; I do not know who created this game… but of course I just fell madly in love with it since SciFi is one of my favorite genres and this is just hysterical.

My full Star Wars name is:  Her Royal Highness Saldu Ch’pon

Here are the instructions for your Star Wars name:

Write the first three letters of your first name and the first two letters of your last name to make the first word.

Write the first two letters of your mother’s maiden name and the first three letters of your city of birth for the second word.

If you have too many consonants, feel free to hyphenate or use an apostrophe as needed 🙂

Precede this with “His/Her Royal Highness” or any other title you desire such as Commander, High Holy Priest/ess, Master of the Universe… and feel free to promote yourself often.  Oh, and you can also demote yourself or others (but then there is that messy karma issue).

And there you have it!

Blessed be!

From One Witch to Another: Happy Mabon!

From One Witch to Another: Happy Mabon!

It is hard to believe that the Autumn Equinox is here!  The Full Libra Moon was gorgeous, and a propitious time for spell casting!  To me, Mabon is a time to go within, to see where I have come since the beginning of the year, and to see where I am headed for the New Year (Samhain).  Since I like to think about New Year’s resolutions and goals on both October 31 and the more traditional December 31, Mabon is an excellent time to become more reflective.

Wishing you a wonderful Mabon season.
